Chile Powder Adventures is unique in South America because I am focused exclusively on human-powered skiing experiences in Chile. Being a guide service versus a tour operator means that each trip is tailored for small groups traveling together, no detail is missed and the days are expertly led with enthusiasm.
The goal is to create and share absolutely unique skiing experiences with you. Combine: intimate knowledge of this vast, rugged, and wild landscape; the expertise of a qualified ski guide; the highest standard of care and service; a priority on safety and learning, a desire to share the local culture; and a passion for skiing adventure – this is what makes Chile Powder Adventures standout in South America.
My name is Donny Roth. I am the owner of Chile Powder Adventures, and the lead guide on every trip offered. I have spent every southern hemisphere winter in Chile since 2004 – it’s a second home to me. Exploring the Andes continues to inspire me, and I want nothing more than to share it with passionate skiers. If you ski with me, I want it to feel like you’re traveling and skiing with a small business owner, whom cares immensely about quality, and lives to share his passion.
In order to keep quality high, and overhead low, this is a very small operation. How small? One-person. I guide every trip, drive the van, answer the emails and phone, do the grocery shopping, and pick up when it’s over. I keep the group sizes very small because I want each trip to be special. I have a diverse background as an athlete, educator and guide, and this allows me to customize each trip so that hopefully you go home feeling like you just experienced something magical.
I specialize in two areas of Chile: August is focused on an area called "Invernada" and September / early October is focused on skiing volcanoes farther south. Between these two places there is a lifetime of skiing and challenge. All of the trips are custom designed to meet the needs and wishes of your group. This website is designed to inspire you.
