Ski into A Volcano!

What are you doing in early October?  Actually, it doesn't matter.  I've got a better idea.  You should come to Chile and ski into the caldera of the Puyehue volcano.
Skiing Puyehue is one of those "bucket-list," holy-crap-this-is-unreal, once-in-a-lifetime type experiences.  The skiing on the outside of the volcano is worthy; but it's the caldera (most people call it a crater) which is the real reward.  From the rim, you drop down a steep face into an environment like you've never been in before.
Here are some basics to know:

I am not offering this as a pre-set itinerary with a fixed price.  Get a group together and we will customize this trip to fit your needs and wants.  The ideal timeframe would be somewhere between October 2nd and 11th.

You would fly into and out of either Puerto Montt or Osorno, depending on which has the best flight option that day.  I would meet you at the airport and escort you around one of my favorite places on Earth.

We will warm up on Volcán Casa Blanca to make sure we are dialed before going to Puyehue.  We dedicate a fair bit of time to Puyehue.  We basically camp on the mountain.  Being up there for a few-days gives us much better odds of skiing into the caldera.  It also allows us to ski from the summit and enjoy the long runs on the outside of the mountain.  When we come down we are met by the wonderful people who run the ranch in the valley and have a great lunch.  From here, we head south to ski on Volcán Osorno until it is time to go home.

In my experience, this trip should be nine or ten days in length.  Instead of rushing from one peak to the next, hoping the weather windows work out, I like to have multiple days on each peak, so we have a better chance of actually getting the experience you came for.

This trip could be as little as $2900 per person with a group of four.  This includes guiding, lodging, transportation, all food, including touring food, hot springs visits.  I even buy beer for after skiing and wine at dinner.  The lodging and food are stellar!

This is by far the best thing you can do in early October.  I'd love to see you there.
